Solid Harmony News – 12 Oct 2007

Hope the weather is not too gloomy out there where you are. Let me just get straight into catching you all up.

September was a busy month for the choir with 3 performances as well as welcoming over 10 new members to the choir. They started off the month with the Sing For Peace event, then just two days later, they performed at Queen Mary’s, then they set the mood with an inspirational and positive performance at NewVIc‘s Special Diploma Evening.

Last week saw the second – and final – part of a partnership with Tanzanian artist Cassius Maganga. He worked with the choir on two pieces, one which is in his native language and the second being one they have developed together. The choir are now in the process of finishing the writing process and are now getting together to polish it all up. He integrated call and response as well body beat techniques and even managed to get the band singing too!!!
