Solid Harmony through their paces in the music room at NewVIc.
He taught them traditional South African choreography to dance with
their repertoire of songs by Miriam Makeba and Hugh Masekela. Thank you

On Tuesday 23rd November, Sarah came to lead
a choir rehearsal with Solid Harmony, teaching them her own beautiful
arrangement of 'Make me an instrument of your Peace'. In just one
session the choir had added it to their ever widening repertoire and
would like to thank Sarah and her assistant Diane Leak for a thoroughly
enjoyable rehearsal!
Sarah Jewell leads the Songlines Choirs in North London. They sing a
wide range of folk and gospel songs from around the world, mostly
arranged by Sarah herself.

On Saturday 30th July, 12 members of Solid Harmony, 2 chaperones and
their conductor, set off in the NewVIc minibus for Wales. The Canadian
organization CME - Choral Music Experience, were holding a convention at the University of Wales Institute, Cardiff, for international choirs and conductors.
Solid Harmony prepared a wide selection of repertoire, sent by CME for4
intensive weeks prior to the departure. The music included everything
from North American Indian chants to Mozart's 'Magic Flute' Opera.
After
a week of hard work with members of the CME faculty, in particular the
wonderful Janet Galvan, Scott Gilmore, Lorna MacDonald, Doreen Rao and
of course Willaim Buhr accompanying. The choir also had great fun
getting to know the Washington State Youth Choir and the St. Louis
Youth Choir. All choirs came together on the last day to perform at
Llandaff Cathedral and St. David's Hall.
Solid Harmony thank the Institute for an "inspiring and rewarding" week.
