It was a wonderful night! Solid Harmony opened the event
with style and professionalism. They performed a twenty minute set,
including Paul Watson's song 'Are You Ready' and the Gospel classic 'Going Up a
Yonder'. Once again they moved the audience singing 'Heavenly Father', the song
taught to them by their Namibian visitors last June. The rest of the evening
the fabulous Revelation, and Ephesians continued to impress the audience and
the other choirs, who were there to perform three David Levale and Paul Watson
songs learned during the day long workshop. The whole evening was truly
inspirational and heartfelt. Singing together, bringing together! |

Hello guys! I
hope you all had a fantastic summer? The choir are now ready and
refreshed for the new term - are you? Still excited from taking part in
this year's CME Programme in York, and from their exchange programme as
part of the Live Ed project, the choir have plenty of things lined up over the next few months.
Starting
off with a set as part of the Gospel & Inspirational Event at
Stratford Circus on the 29th September, shortly followed by their first
ever choir-only performance at St. Edmund's Church in Forest Gate on
the 31st October. And, they have just been invited to perform at this
year's Shining Through Awards.
I'm tired just reading this.
Don't forget to keep checking the website for all the latest on the choir.
p.s. Check out the choir's official MySpace page too! p.p.s.
For those wishing to join the choir, we will be having a recruitment
session on the 3rd of October in Newham Sixth Form College ( NewVIc). |
Young singers, Conductors and Composers spent a week together getting
to know each others, their sound and their music.
The
choir learned to develop
our work and our selves with guidance and empathic support from those
with more experience and expertise than ourselves and from each other.
Jane excelled in her conducting sessions and the choir were very proud.
Plus, here was were the now infamous 'Chicken & Rice' song was
created.
The week was an oasis of peace and beauty in a world full of conflict
and suffering, reminding us how we can be peace makers.

Yesterday Solid Harmony took to the music stage as part of the
Newham Townshow. The event, headed by the Mayor of Newham, was an
exciting and fun-filled day for all the family.
The
choir wowed the spectators with their colourful appearance and energetic
songs! The choir member's family and friend's were all their to give
their full support, although the choir are becoming quite a strong
force on their own!!!
