Members of Solid Harmony Youth Community Choir pose for a photo backstage at the Queen Elizabeth Hall. They were invited to take part in the iGospel Event S.O.U.L, (Sing Out Us London). The choir revisited a song they'd written for World Aids Day last year, commissioned by NewVIc.
Young and Gifted were there too and the massed adult and youth S.O.U.L choir. Solid Harmony's performance went down a storm and the choir would like to thank iGospel for the opportunity to sing at this exciting venue as part of a heart felt day! |

Such fun to sing with our fellow community choirs, Forest Voices, Wells Bells, and Godwin Primary. A festive vibe and such wonderful singing! I blizzard was waiting to greet us as we left the venue! Very exciting winter cheer! :-)

We have had so much wonderful opportunity for festival singing this Christmas! We enjoyed singing for the Richard House at their Spirit of Christmas and Readings service outside, round the Christmas Tree. It was really cold outside, but hearts were warmed by the shared wishes of the people who came and sang together.

For some time we have looked to find a way to support Richard House children's hopsice in Beckton. It was a joy and privilege to share the evening with so many other musicians and performers in the local community of Wanstead. We enjoyed the acoustic accompaniment provided by our very own Dian, Samuel and Junior. David Spark, the organizer tells us that £192.4 pounds were raised! Well done everyone and thanks for including us!

Yes, it's Howard Goodall introducing US! We are honoured and proud to have been chosen to sing at the SING UP BBC Choir Prom on Sunday. We combined forces with Gallions Primary School, representing East London as the East London Partnership Choir. It looks as though Jason and his friend will join Solid Harmony as a result! RESULT! On the bill with us was the wonderful London Oratorio choir, who rock! Well done guys!
Thank you to Jo Hunter from Sing Up for the opportunity. It was great to see so many of our friends in the front row too, eminent people who have conducted us before - David Lawrence at the Royal Festival Hall and the Barbican in past years and Richard Frostick with Hugh Masekela at the Roundhouse, Sharon Durrant who has worked with some of Gallions Primary teachers. We feel a part on one big SINGING FAMILY! Onwards into 2010 and beyond!

Summer Days!
How August is flying! We do hope our friends and supporters, and (everyone else for that matter) are enjoying their summer. The choir is soon to begin meeting again after a 6 week break.
We hope to welcome several new members from 8th September onwards (drop us a line on the contacts page for more info). We already have bookings in the diary, a bonding weekend booked at the Isle of White PGL and a weekend recording date fixed at the Roundhouse in Chalk Farm, so an exciting year ahead!
But before this, we'll be full on rehearsing from 1st September for the BBC Sing Up Choirs Prom at the Royal Academy of Music on Sunday 6th September. Listen out for us on the radio!
Thank you for all your continued support and we look forward to seeing you at future events!
