Thanks to SERIOUS, Solid Harmony Senior choir had the privilege of being invited to sing on the steps of St. David’d Hall, Cardiff on Saturday as part of this important Wellcome Trust 75th Anniversary. Dame Gwyneth Jones listened to us and gave us valuable advise about how to look after our vocal chords and sing with a ‘beautifully rounded sound’.
For the second year running, Newham held a festival of choirs this month. This is a series of choir sharing events leading up to a finale of 8 choirs. Solid Harmony enjoyed reviving their own creation, ‘Chicken and Rice’ for one of the sharing events and sang Michael Jackson’s ‘Will You Be There’, conducted by Geneta Crooke for the big finale at Newham Town Hall.
Among the other choirs taking part were Young and Gifted, Gouri Choudhury’s Hindi and Bangladeshi singers, Forest Voices and the Urban Development crew.
